36 Delegates to Elect Council of State Member on Tuesday 11th February 2025

The Council of State member for the Volta region will be elected on February 11, 2025, by 36 assembly members, with 13 candidates competing for the position.

Dr. David Kofi Woaku, a Council of State aspirant, held a press conference at Hotel Stevens on February 3, 2025, where he shared his vision for the Volta Region and outlined his plans for the region’s youth, should he be elected as a member of the Council of State.

Dr. Woaku, the first candidate on the ballot, confidently assured the region’s people in an interview on Hilz 91.7 that, if appointed by the president to serve as a member of the Council of State, he would dedicate himself to advancing the region’s development.

He emphasized his commitment to prioritizing the needs of the people and working relentlessly to bring tangible progress to the area.

Dr. Woaku, drawing on his extensive experience with the Bank of Ghana, expressed confidence that if appointed by the president as a member of the Council of State, he would bring significant transformation to the region, particularly through the creation of employment opportunities for the youth.

He appealed to the assembly members to vote for him, emphasizing his commitment to driving development in the region.

Reflecting on past grievances, he acknowledged that the region had previously criticized the NDC for not making meaningful progress. However, he insisted that this was a thing of the past and vowed to bring a new era of progress.

Dr. Woaku also promised to provide scholarships for the region’s youth to pursue ICT studies abroad, ensuring they gain the skills needed to thrive in the modern world. He called on the assembly members voting on Tuesday to support his vision for a brighter future for the region.

Dr. David Kofi Woaku, a candidate for the Council of State, appealed to the 36 assembly members from each district to vote for him, promising to bring development to the Volta Region and create opportunities for the youth.

He also pledged to attract foreign investors to establish factories in the region, further boosting economic growth.

Dr. David Kofi Woaku promises to work with assembly members, traditional leaders, MPs, and the regional minister so that Volta Region will progress, he also promises to keep the region clean and green when elected as a member of the Council of State.
