Chiefs, NDC, Kpedze Senior High School, and Others Paid Homage to Togbe Afede During Ongoing Yam Festival Celebrations

As part of the 2024 Asogli Yam Festival, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Torgbe Afede XIV, received greetings from chiefs, individuals, and organizations on Friday, 9th of October 2024.

Chiefs from across the region were present to greet the Agbogbomefia, Torgbe Afede XIV. Among the attendees were the old students and authorities of Kpedze Senior High School.

A Brief History of Kpedze Senior High School

Kpedze Senior High School is one of the oldest institutions in the region and has trained many prominent individuals, including Torgbe Afede. The school was established in 1962 in Kpedze.

The old students and the school authorities of Kpedze Senior High arrived in the palace bearing greetings and gifts to see their very own Torgbe Afede.

In addition to bringing two bottles of Gordon’s gins and a donation to the Agbogbomefia educational fund as a token of goodwill, the school also used the occasion to remind Torgbe about the next homecoming lunch, which will be held on the 10th of October 2024 at NAT Hall in Ho.

Political Parties at the Event

The regional executives of the Volta National Democratic Congress (NDC) also paid their homage to Agbogbomefia with some donations.

Religious leaders gathered at the event to pray for Torgbe Afede. The Pro-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, along with several faculty members, also paid their respects to him.

The Ghana Prison Service and the police service also donated to Agbogbomefia Torgbe Afede XIV.

Saturday, 5th October, will mark the grand durbar of the Asogli Yam festival.
