Breaking: GFP Disqualified from contesting 2024 Election—Balloting Position Maintained

The Electoral Commission has disqualified the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) from participating in this year’s election following the death of its founder and leader, Madam Akua Donkor.

Mr. Kwabena Agyemang Appiah Kubi, who had been Madam Donkor’s running mate, had submitted his candidacy to contest as the party’s presidential candidate. However, his application was rejected due to errors found in their filing documents.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensa, addressed the media regarding the disqualification of Mr. Kwabena Agyemang Appiah Kubi, the Ghana Freedom Party’s (GFP) presidential candidate.

Madam Mensa confirmed that the Electoral Commission has upheld the party’s balloting position.

She also urged the media to help educate the public, emphasizing that voters should not cast their ballots for Madam Akua Donkor in the upcoming election, following her passing and the disqualification of the GFP.
