NPP Criticizes Concerned Volta Youths for Urging UHAS to Revoke Nana Addo’s Honorary Doctorate
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, addressed the press in Ho, to condemn Volta NDC and the Concerned Volta Youths’ call to the University of Health and Allied Sciences to cancel the Honorary Doctorate Degree Confer on President Nana Addo Dankwa.
The press conference theme was “Threats against the Administration and Governing Council of UHAS by Volta NDC and their Surrogates.”
NPP’s press conference was held to criticize the Concerned Volta Youths for their opposition to the decision of UHAS to confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree on President Nana Addo Dankwa.
According to the Concerned Volta Youths, they are disappointed by the decision of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) to confer an honorary doctorate on Nana Addo.
The New Patriotic Party’s Volta Regional Chairman Hon. Makafui Kofi Woanyah addressed the media.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) criticized the press conference held by the Concerned Volta Youths, labeled them NDC surrogates, and clarified the reasons behind the University Council’s decision to honor the president.
Hon. Makafui Kofi Woanya described the decision by the University as “incontrovertible.”
“The University Council approved the decision to recognize the president for his exemplary leadership in making science education more accessible to Ghanaian families through the free SHS policy. The Prioritization of STERM education in Ghana, the completion of the UHAS China Aided Face Two Expansion Project”
During the press conference, Hon. Makafui, the Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, outlined the achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta Region.
He highlighted the accomplishments of the Nana Addo-led government, which positively impacted families in the region and the entire nation, including interventions under the free education policy and the restoration of nurses’ allowances.
